Growing succulents in wet or humid areas: tips & tricks
Succulents are well-adapted to survive drought but with a little extra care you can also get certain varieties to survive in wet or humid climates.
Improve Drainage
- Plant in gritty, well-draining soil like succulent / cactus soil from a garden center

- Amend heavy garden soil with 50% coarse sand by volume
- Plant in raised beds and containers with drainage holes
- Move pots under roofs or put clear, plastic sheeting at least 18" above beds during the rainy season
