Straight Jack's gritty mix might be a bit too gritty for Sempervivum, so you'll need to water more than normal. Look for signs of dehydration (flexible or wrinkly leaves) and then water deeply.

We recommend a 1:1 mix of Jack's gritty mix and normal potting soil or a bagged succulent soil.
